The Fairfield South lesson program, led by Devon Garone, has the ability to suit all ages and riding levels. Our experience level, year-round facility, safe horses, and fun atmosphere enable you to enjoy the sport for recreation or show. Whether riders are interested in learning basic horsemanship, or the thrill of horse show competition, all interest levels can be met.

Fairfield South riders can participate in horse shows even if they do not own their own show horse. Many horse shows offer an Academy division in which riders compete on a Fairfield South lesson horse. Fairfield South also participates in a winter riding tournament program that was originally begun under Marsha Garones' guidance. Riders compete on lesson horses, and the tournaments are held at local area horse barns.

Fairfield South offers camps for different levels of riders. Our academy day camp is designed for riders who do not own their own horse yet.

The camp will be offered from:

New Rider Camp: July 14-17
Intermediate Camp: July 20-22

Activities include group lessons, riding games, horse related educational activities, demonstrations, arts and crafts, swimming, a scavenger hunt, and a horse show on the last day!

We also have several overnight options for our show riders. These camps are designed for riders who own and show their own horse.

The camps are held prior to several of our summer shows, and focus on preparing riders physically and mentally for the tasks ahead. Riders ride several times a day on their show horse and lesson horses to brush up on their skills.

These camps also improve riders' fitness with group jogs in the morning and a fun obstacle course set up by the riders! A selected speaker talks to the group about motivation and mental toughness to encourage riders before and during competition.

We also have swimming, games, horse show videos and cookouts for riders to relax and enjoy spending time together. Fairfield South fully prepares riders for the challenge of horse show competition, but also encourages the fun along the way.
